Angreal, sa'angreal, and ter'angreal are devices that affect or use the One Power. Angreal and sa'angreal increase a channeler's ability, while ter'angreal use the One Power for a specific purpose. All of these that survive are relics of the Age of Legends; no Aes Sedai has been able to construct any such device since that time. For specific example of these, as well as for other Power-wrought items (such as swords and fancloth), see Relics. General rules for these items are here.
Angreal increase the amount of the One Power that a channeler can safely handle. Each angreal has two values, presented as such: "x/y", where x is the number of extra threads the angreal allows per round, and y is the number of additional Effect Dice. Some angreal give a set amount, while some give an amount based upon a roll, or a percentage of the original.
Sa'angreal are very similar, but give a far larger bonus to the channeler, requiring a couple of additional rules. First, any time a channeler handles over twice her normal level of either Threads or Effect Dice using either an angreal or sa'angreal, she loses 1 Fortitude per round for every 100% over. Sa'angreal sometimes have buffers, to further reduce this. Second, sa'angreal are too powerful for weaker channelers. Any time a channeler attempts to use more Effect Dice in one round than her Fortitude, she will take 1 Body each round. Normally, this doesn't come into play; with a sa'angreal it could.
Miscellaneous
Fancloth
Fancloth is the material that Warders' cloaks is made out of. It is color-shifting,
blending with the environment around it.
Ter'Angreal
Agiel
These items are flexible red rods, somewhat like the handle of a whip,
about a foot and a half long. They are attuned to either men or women.
The wielder channels a thread of fire into the Agiel, and it then causes
excruciating pain without physical damage when it strikes someone.
Bracelets of Unraveling
These bracelets are thin, made of silver, and inset with 5 blue gems.
Each gem can unravel 5 Effect Dice worth of weaves of either saidar
or saidin directed at the wearer. After the fifth Die, the gem turns
grey and worthless. Although these are normally worn as a pair, a single
bracelet functions in the same manner. Please note that this unravels all
weaves, whether hostile or not.
Call Box
These small, carved boxes were used to rapidly communicate in battles.
Each is very intricately carved. A touch of Fire to two spots would connect
it to all other call boxes of the same type; the boxes would then conduct sound
back and forth. A touch of Water to the same location, and the box puts out
a "call" sensed by all female channelers within about 10 miles. Earth works similarly
for male channelers. Spirit will call both. A touch of Air to these locations sends out
a call to a person who has been specifically attuned to the box by holding it while
a thread of Spirit touches it at 2 other locations. Each call box can have multiple people
attuned to it at once. A thread of Air touching these locations removes the person who
is holding it from this attunement; a thread of Earth resets the box. Water here kills the box.
Fire here will cause the box to melt. Too much of any thread will cause it to explode.
Lightcrystals
These small crystals (about 3 inches long, generally clear) are used
to generate light. A simple weave of fire into a crystal will cause it to
glow with a white light (assuming a clear crystal) for about 3 hours. Brightness
is that of several candles. More than 1 Effect Die will cause the crytal to
explode with a flash and bang, doing 1d4 Body to anyone holding it.
Journey Books
These items are small books, about 6"x4"x1". They are normally bound in a
durable, leather-like substance, with thick pages of an unknown substance.
The pages are resistant to damage, including normal writing, and have a slick
feel. Each page can only be easily marked with a metal stylus, found in the spine of
each book. Each book is paired with another; anything written in one book
instantly appears in its mate. The books do not require channeling to work,
although a thread of Spirit into the stylus allows it to be used to erase.
This also erases the words from the mate.
